Just hours into its second 'Own it Now' catalog sale, Memory Lane Inc. had logged over $150,000 in sales. Among the first items to go were a pair of historic game-used baseball bats. A 1955 Ted Williams model was snapped up for $57,500 while a 1951 Joe DiMaggio stick went for $49,950.
The sale, consisting of 88 high-end lots of vintage sports cards and memorabilia, offers items at fixed prices. Those unsold after two weeks then become open for offers. It's clear some collectors didn't want to take a chance.
About one-sixth of the items in the sale had already found new homes by Monday evening as collectors found lots they considered bargains.
A T206 Honus Wagner graded Authentic is among the items available.
