The '69 Mets still draw faithful fans in New York...and autograph guests who have their own momentos.
Thanksgiving weekend still brings out the long weekend card shows in a few places around the country.
In White Plains, New York, collectors came to the Westchester County Center to look over new and old baseball cards and grab a few autographs.
Among the attendees: Ron Swoboda, the former outfielder-turned-TV sportscaster. Swoboda signed for fans, cheerfully remembering Shea Stadium as well as the days before he was a Met when he signed his autograph for an entirely different reason.
Swoboda also divulged to the local newspaper the two autographed baseballs he keeps in his collection--each of them most likely one-of-a-kind.
