Upstate New York Man Charged With Possessing Stolen Card Collection

Police in Canandaigua, N.Y.,  think they’ve solved a burglary case involving $75,000 worth of  sports cards.

Jason C. Howell, 33, of  Gates was charged with second-degree criminal possession of stolen property, a class C felony, on Friday, after police say he sold the collection of vintage cards to a collector in the area.  Detectives believe the obtained them as a result of a burglary in nearby Monroe County.

Investigators say the cards were stolen on different occasions and included Mickey Mantle and Ted Williams cards.

Howell was arraigned in Canandaigua City Court, and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or $50,000 bond bail.
