Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos leads the crew of youngsters this season. There are six “Young Guns” rookie cards along with two Upper Deck Game Jersey cards in each hobby box on average.
Upper Deck put together a special insert set that chronicles the memorable 2008 Winter Classic Game between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Buffalo Sabres. Limited-edition parallel cards return as well to help add some additional chase to the product.
“Hockey fans are extremely loyal and we try to award that by taking them closer to the game with 2008-09 Upper Deck Series One Hockey,” said Josh Zusman, Upper Deck hockey brand manager. “Innovation has always been a key reason for our success and we’ve really come up with a great insert set with the ‘Clear Cut Winners’ that are die-cut and printed on acetate. This season is the first year we will have a ‘Duos’ version as well with two top players on one unique card.”
