The company's most loyal--and monetarily blessed-- customers will have their annual gathering in Chicago this summer.
Upper Deck and the National Sports Collectors Convention announced that Upper Deck's Diamond Club will hold their annual Summit in conjunction with the 29th National July 30-August 3 in Chicago.
The Upper Deck Diamond Club consists of fewer than 125 of the top individual purchasers and collectors of Upper Deck brands from the United States, Canada and Japan.
The group is made up of those who spend significant amounts of money on Upper Deck products and are often consulted on new products via their participation in focus groups. The Summit is where much of the interaction takes place, but the gathering has never been at the National before. Former locations where the event was held include Las Vegas and Upper Deck’s headquarters in Carlsbad.
Members will be treated to a variety of events around the National including a day at Wrigley Field for the Cubs game, a special evening reception with an Upper Deck spokesman, followed by a private reception the final day of the show on Sunday.
Former Upper Deck stars who have attended the event include LeBron James and Drew Brees.
“We’re thrilled that Upper Deck has elected to bring their exclusive Diamond Club members to the Chicago National,” said show manager, Mike Berkus. “This is the first time, and hopefully, not the last, this elite group of collectors will be at the National.”
”Our Diamond Club members are extremely passionate about collecting sports cards and sharing the collecting experience, so the National is a perfect venue for us to host this annual event,” said Upper Deck hobby marketing manager, Chris Carlin. “We know dealers will be excited about their presence at this year’s National. Diamond Club members have an affinity for high-end Upper Deck products and they should find no shortage of these rare items at the biggest sports collectibles show of the year.”
