Collectors have been frustrated with the technical issues plaguing the Topps Diamond Giveaway website but there was good news on Thursday. The site is back up and running properly.
Topps apologized for the lack of access but wasn’t offering any extension on the deadline to redeem codes from 2011 Series One and Update packs.
“We hope that you have enjoyed unlocking your codes and digging for some really cool prizes,” they wrote in an e-mail. “Effective January 31, 2012 at 12:00 am all codes from 2011 Topps Baseball Series 1 and 2011 Topps Update Series will expire on as stated on cards, while codes from 2011 Topps Baseball Series 2 can be redeemed through June 30, 2012.”
That will likely send collectors scrambling for their unredeemed codes over the weekend.
All trading and card ordering will remain open until the site shuts down. Collectors who want winning cards shipped must do so before the site closes at 11:59PM EST on June 30, 2012.
Topps Customer Service team says it’s ready to help provide answers to other questions and listen to suggestions between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays (phone: 1-800-489-9149) or by Email:[email protected].
The company will follow the Diamond Giveaway promotion from last year with its Golden Giveaway website, launching in February www.topps.com/golden where this year’s promotion will take place. 2012 Series one launches February 1.
