Sun-Times Show Set for This Weekend

The 43rd annual Chicago Sun-Times Sports Collectible Convention returns to the Stephens Convention Center this weekend.  The long-running show runs Friday from 4:30-9 p.m., Saturday from 9:30-5 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Stephens Convention CenterSports card and memorabilia dealers, auction companies and other hobby businesses from around the country will be set up.

Over 40 autograph guests are scheduled to appear including Greg Maddux, making a rare visit to a card show at prices ranging from $179 to $299 plus $89 for an inscription.

Other guests include Bill Russell, Oscar Robertson, Jack Lambert, Frank Robinson, Ernie Banks, Pete Rose, Ozzie Smith, Barry Sanders, Gordie Howe, Johnny Bench, Rocky Colavito, Jim Brown, Reggie Jackson, Lawrence Taylor, bob gibson, Lou Brock, Steve Carlton, Tony LaRussa, Brian Urlacher, Whitey Ford, Bob Knight and others.  Rafael Furcal and Jason Motte from the World Series champion Cardinals were recent additions while former Twins’ great Kent Hrbek has cancelled.

Ten members of the Green Bay Packers Super Bowl I and II teams will be signing on Friday evening.

Admission is $10 with kids 7 and under $5.

$99 VIP packages enable half-hour early admission all three days, free autographs from six VIP guests, one random autograph ticket from the big name autograph lineup and others.  Deluxe VIP tickets are $179 and include express autograph line bracelets.
