Stommens Still into Sports Stuff
The grandsons of the founder of Sports Collectors Digest are collectors too.
If you’re a hobby old-timer you’ll remember the name John Stommen. He started the hobby publication Sports Collectors Digest, cranking out issues from the family’s kitchen table during the 1970s with help from his young sons.
The magazine was later sold to Krause Publications but the Michigan family remained active in the sports card and memorabilia hobby. Now, Stommen’s sons have sons and, according to the Ann Arbor News, they’re into ticket stubs in a big way.
