A few notes we shamelessly turn into a blog post.  Voila!  Fresh content!
Took a peek at the new Goodwin & Company auction catalog today and saw an autographed index card of Frankie Frisch in which the former member of the Gashouse Gang inscribed "The Old Flash" above his name.

I remember when old-timers used to do things like that--flattered just to be remembered and not worried about getting anything for their autograph.

We received an e-mail this week from someone who found a 19th century trophy ball at an antique shop and was looking for a value. It was a police vs fire game in some city, but still a neat piece. The stuff, it seems, is still out there if you look hard enough.

Another reader--a mover--was given a statue of Mike Ditka when Da Coach moved out of his home in New Orleans and wondered what it would be worth. Didn't look much like him, but surely it's one of a kind.

The LA Daily News has a nice story on the Jackie Robinson court martial documents we wrote about earlier this year. They're on the auction block today.

Welcome to a couple of new advertisers. Mile High Card Company has a terrific website and a ton of high grade vintage cards.

Iconic Memorabilia has an auction underway right now, with some very nice pieces of sports, entertainment and political memorabilia.
