The owner of T206Museum.com has taken the site off line after a dust-up with collectors who had discovered he was responsible for creating rare backed cards and attempting to pass them off as real.

Patrick Chan later admitted in a post on the same forum that he made bogus T206 backs and placed them for sale. A number of old posts brought to light indicate Chan offered some misleading information when asked about the cards in the past and touted the scarcity of his fakes on the T206 Museum site.  He apologized and says the small number of cards he created are now "in the hands of the authorities".

That's still not sitting well with veteran collectors.

The bizarre discussion, confession and outrage exploded over the weekend on this forum
