Noted collector and author Stephen Wong talks about the hobby on Bloomberg TV.

On the BLOOMBERG TELEVISION® program "Night Talk," anchor Mike Schneider talks to Baseball Collector and Author of Smithsonian Baseball: Inside the World's Finest Private Collections Stephen Wong.

Wong talks about early baseball card collectors as well as the role of provenance in valuable cards and memorabilia.

“The most valuable items are the ones that are established to a player, and particularly the ones that have iron clad provenance," he says. "Things were actually used by that player. There are enough Babe Ruth bats out to build a house with-- literally--they’re not rare, but it’s those that are autographed by him, or that have side-writing or vault marks…those are certain signs that you placed the bat in Ruth’s hands, or DiMaggio’s hands.”

"Night Talk" airs in the U.S., Europe and Asia on Bloomberg TV at 10PM EDT on weeknights and is simulcast on Bloomberg Radio at 10PM. Bloomberg Radio is broadcast on 1130AM in the New York Metropolitan area and is available on XM and Sirius. The Friday night Show re-airs over the weekend Sat at 8:00-9:00pm, 10:00-11:00pm and Mon 12:00am - 1:00am.

"Night Talk" can also be seen on Bloomberg.com, is podcast here and can also be found on iTunes under Business News.
