The hobby...back in the news.
The number of visitors to Sports Collectors Daily just about doubled this week. While I'd like to say it was because of the brilliant writing, the fact is that most people were finding us because they were just curious about what Barry Bonds' 755th and 756th homers were worth. They had the same question about the 500th that flew off the bat of Alex Rodriguez last weekend.
Sports memorabilia was again national news this week as every media outlet in America, it seemed, was doing a story on fans cashing in on little pieces of history falling from the sky. Make that little winning lottery tickets. That's pretty much the angle most used. And that's OK. It brought attention to the hobby--if you can call the home run balls part of the hobby. Those of you who don't like Bonds and aren't into things like that are probably bored and/or disgusted by the whole thing. Some, though, might decide that even if they can't buy a historic ball, they can, at least, get involved in sports memorabiia some other way. The sad thing is that a lot of people think everything is valuable. There is still a lot of educating to do.

Not all of it is Emmy award-winning stuff, but you might find a few things that are interesting and we'll continue to update it. You can also submit video of your own. If we like it, we'll add it.
