Word from the Pennsylvania courts is that the case against Roger Hooper has been continued to September 17.

Roger Lee Hooper had been scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Tuesday, but his attorney requested a continuance. The request was granted by Judge Charles Clement.

Hooper faces several counts of fraud and deceptive business practices regarding the sales of non-genuine autographed baseballsand sports card packs that have been tampered with.

The county District Attorney’s Office has been in contact with collectors who say they have been victimized by Hooper, who maintains he did not knowingly cheat his buyers.

Cumberland County Detective Earl Bock has told reporters that hundreds of dubious items with a value in excess of $60,000 are involved.
