It's been going on for nearly four decades.
John Boutet used to scrounge around for ticket stubs and programs discarded by fans who weren't quite as interested in material things. He found discarded hockey sticks from NHL players who skated at the Aud.
The collector and fan has over 10,000 items in his collection, most of which are directly related to Buffalo sports. "I really enjoy those tickets and programs the most," he said. "It's so cool because you know they were actually at the game.
His collection and website make up the The Buffalo Sports Museum, located in his house for now, but a dream he'd like to recreate at a suitable venue. His wife and two kids are supportive even though it takes up a good chunk of his home.
