Baseball card art is one of the hottest concepts on the market these days with talented creators helping put a new spin on collectible cardboard.

East coast resident Paul Lempa, a former athlete himself, has turned his interest in drawing and sports into a gig for Topps.

Lempa’s work has also found its way into the hands of his subjects like former Yankee Don Mattingly, who raved about his work.

You’ll sense a nostalgic feel to many of his pieces.

"I got into card collecting and autograph collecting, but I just loved the way everything was back then. I’m definitely a student of baseball history.”
