Robert Benson, who used the eBay ID 2010cardguy, sold a 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth card on the internet auction site back in March as well as several 1940s Bowman cards.

On May 24, the 30-year-old Benson was charged with felony counts after detectives say they learned he stole a 1957 Topps Bart Starr rookie football card, a 1951 Bowman Mickey Mantle rookie card and a 1955 Topps Sandy Koufax baseball card all for nearly $2,000.

The charges against him now include nearly $4,000 of stolen sports cards, plus numerous other items and he’s now facing over two dozen counts of dealing in stolen property.

Hernando County jail records also show Benson was also arrested in March on two counts of grand theft but was released from jail.  His rap sheet also includes charges of driving with a suspended license, driving under the influence, animal cruelty, possession of a controlled substance, corruption, trespassing and possession of drug paraphernalia.
