Rosenberg Happy With Peck & Snyder Card

He almost became a lawyer, but his latest purchase proves the president of Tri-Star Productions made the right career choice.

Sports memorabilia, sports cards, autographs and card shows are Jeff Rosenberg’s business.

The president of Tri-Star Productions in Houston knows the dollars and cents angle, but he’s also a collector at heart–and knows a card with public relations value too.

He’s the buyer of the 1869 Peck & Snyder Cincinnati Red Stockings card found last year in a Fresno, California antique and collector shop. The find made the card too attractive to pass up–even at a price of over $75,000.

"This is like an ultimate treasure," Rosenberg said. "Anybody who is a collector of baseball cards, of history, would want this. It would fit in any museum, from the Smithsonian to the Baseball Hall of Fame."

The Houston Chronicle profiled the promoter who chose cardboard and autographs over a law career and never looked back.
