One young person will have a chance to meet Cal Ripken Jr. and others will win some autographed Ripken merchandise as part of a new promotion announced for this year’s National Sports Collectors Convention.

The winner of the “Luckiest Kid in Town” sweepstakes will be given 4 VIP passes and packages, to this year's National, and on Saturday, meet Ripken and be presented with an autographed Ripken jersey.  Two runner-up contestants will also be picked and given Cal Ripken Jr autographed bats.

The Baltimore Sun is handling all the local publicity as DACardWorld.com engineered the idea and put the contest into full swing.

“The Hobby always talks about bringing the kids back to collecting,” said Adam Martin, co-owner of DACardWorld.  “Hopefully, this promotion will help bring awareness to the kids of Baltimore and possibly all of the country, as word of the contest spreads.”

DACardWorld is also giving away some free 2010 Topps Baseball Factory Sets with Stephen Strasburg Rookies, as well as limited edition Cal Ripken Jr. and Mickey Mantle Cards.
