Retired Players Seek Share of NFL Licensing Pie

Can you say…lawsuit?

Some retired NFL players who feel they’re not getting a fair shake from the National Football League Players Association won a court victory this week.

A judge has certified a collection of players, maning they may sue the NFLPA as a group over licensing revenue.

According to The Sporting News, players are seeking to claim a much larger share of the money paid to the NFLPA by trading card companies and other licensees.

Players who signed a group licensing agreement are apparently in a better position after the court ruling than those who did not.
