ABA collectors and fans are rediscovering the crazy but much-loved league thanks to Will Ferrell’s new movie.

It’s not the real story of the ABA, but if nothing else, ‘Semi-Pro’ is bringing renewed attention to the very original and very short-lived American Basketball Association.

There were no Flint Tropics, but plenty of teams could have fit that bill. The league had plenty of color and its old game worn uniforms are in high demand among sports collectors.
