A PSA 10 2006 Topps Alex Gordon baseball card failed to meet the seller's reserve Tuesday night.
Kansas was the center of the card collecting world earlier this year, when boxes of 2006 Topps cards featured the "card that wasn't supposed to be" of Royals' rookie Alex Gordon.
That area of the Midwest seemed to be the only place the error card and it's mutant variations were showing up. Some have been graded over the course of the last several months, but only two have reached PSA 10 status. One of those was offered for auction on eBay, but it's high bid of $1,430 was short of the seller's reserve.
The Oklahoma based seller had a "Buy it Now" price of $5,975 on the PSA 10, which has a population of two according to the company's website.
A BGS 9.5 Gordon sold for $2500 last week. That seller reported that six Gordon cards have reached the BGS 9.5 grade.
