After selling a "Holy Grail" trio of vintage sports cards in December, Memory Lane returns with a new sale next month. A PSA 10 1949 Bowman Duke Snider rookie card and a 1934 Tour of Japan Babe Ruth autographed baseball are among the premier items.
You’ll find Willie, Mickey and the Duke scattered among the 1000+ lots in Memory Lane’s April "Classic Rarities" sports memorabilia auction.
The company has kicked off it’s first offering of 2007 with a large catalog that also includes these graded cards:
1951 Bowman PSA 9 Mays
1955 Topps psa 10 Robinson
1939 Play ball PSA 9 Williams
1954 Topps SGC 96 Aaron
1952 Topps PSA 7 Mantle
1933 Delong PSA 8 Gehrig
1933 Delong set almost complete all 7s and 8s
Babe Ruth and the American baseball contingent signed plenty of autographs in Japan during their 1934 tour. One of the baseballs inked by the Babe was kept in it’s original box for seven decades before the family of the Japanese waitress who obtained it consigned it to Memory Lane. The ball will be offered in the sale as well.
Also included in the sale are a single-signed Lou Gehrig baseball and a 1959 Mickey Mantle signed check.
Memory Lane, based in Tustin, CA, held three auctions in 2006, selling over $6 million worth of items.
