Philly Show Gets Promotional Boost From CBS Radio, Utley Appearance

Hunt Auctions, promoter of the Philly Show, has contracted with CBS Radio and CBS to promote the event. Beginning with next weekend’s annual event, the show will be promoted in substantial fashion across the entire CBS Radio platform to include Sports Radio WIP, KYW News Radio, CBS, and other related venues.

On air promotions will include call in appearances by athletes along with additional promotion of the Philly Show dealers and exhibitors. Live broadcasts of the WIP radio shows will also occur from the event itself throughout the show with athlete interviews and potential for dealer/exhibitor interviews and promotion as well.

Hunt Auctions believes the media push will increase attendance.

“We firmly believe in the show platform as a pillar of our hobby,” said company president David Hunt.  “Our commitment is to continue to work towards advancing the Philly Show forward in order to modernize its appeal to the current market while retaining the traditional elements of sports shows that we all recognize as part of origins of the hobby. The partnership with CBS Radio and its related mediums assures that the show promotion will reach millions of regional consumers and in doing so will expose the show element of the hobby to new clientele in a fashion not previously attempted with more traditional sports card shows.”

Phillies all-star second baseman Chase Utley will be appearing at the show on Saturday December 8which will be his first public signing since the Phillies World Series appearances in 2008 and 2009.  Hunt says Utley’s appearance is drawing strong initial interest.  A portion of the proceeds from his autograph session will benefit the PSPCA and Utley’s All-Star Animals charities.
