You may have read here about the Pete Rose "JFK" apology ball last month. Universal Rarities had Rose inscribe a new confession recently and it, too, is generating some eBay interest. Rose's sense of humor---and willingness to market just about anything---put him up to signing "I'm Sorry I Broke up the Beatles" on a ball. Bidding closes Tuesday night and had topped $200 early Monday morning.
The "apology autographed ball line" might become a new cottage industry for Rose, who has gotten a kick out of the idea that blossomed from a memory of his apparance on Late Night with David Letterman several years ago. Universal has been talking with Rose about other possible inscriptions.
