Trading card companies continue to push the envelope as they look for ways to drum up interest in a crowded marketplace looking for something unique. The latest effort comes from Panini America, which on Monday debuted its ‘World’s Longest Football Card’ creation. It’s not really a card, but rather 36 signed cards joined together in a sort of cardboard accordion that measures longer than eight feet.
Numbered to five, the issue features large swatches and autographs from the NFL’s young stars. Too large to fit into a pack, they’ll be awarded to collectors who pull special redemption cards from packs of the company’s new National Treasures football product.
One of the five will include inscriptions.
