The NFL and its players have kicked off the league’s annual “A Crucial Catch” breast cancer campaign, a partnership with the American Cancer Society focused on the importance of annual breast cancer screenings for women. Now, a set of football cards is part of the promotional mix, with collectors and the Susan G. Komen Foundation coming out winners.
Throughout October, NFL players, coaches and referees will wear pink game apparel on fields with pink ribbon stencils and with special game balls and pink coins to help raise awareness for the campaign. And in every stadium across the country, you’ll also find special pink Panini America trading cards, too.
The company produced two special “A Crucial Catch” trading cards for each of the 32 teams in the NFL using the 2011 Gridiron Gear Football design.
The 64-card set includes two players from each team. The design is based on a pink variation of the upcoming 2011 Panini Gridiron Gear Football.
The cards are available today only through a special promotion on the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s online store.
You can pick up a free set by entering the promotion code CATCH11 during checkout at the store. No minimum purchase is required. The cards will only be available for a limited time. Twenty percent of your entire purchase will be donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation.
Although the cards will also be distributed all month long in-stadium, there’s a good chance that collectors could find them as surprise inclusions inside packs of 2011 Gridiron Gear when that product releases in November.
