PA Man Pleads Guilty in Sports Memorabilia Theft
Police got their man in the theft of $200,000 worth of vintage sports memorabilia; but they didn’t get all of the goods.
Sometimes you can’t even trust people you know.
Pennyslvania authorities say Todd S. Bodner knew the man he was stealing from but that didn’t stop him from taking over $200,000 worth of rare sports memorabilia from John Dicks’ collection.
After an investigation, Bodner was arrested and pleaded guilty in Washington County (PA) court last week. He was accused of stealing numerous items from Dicks and then selling them off. Police say he did it so well they haven’t been able to round up much of anything that was taken in the theft including an autographed Babe Ruth photo that was sold in 2007 by American Memorabilia.
The Observer-Reporter has the sad details of the case, which will come to an end this spring when Bodner is sentenced.
