The National Sports Collectors Convention will add a ‘Case Break Pavilion’ when it sets up shop at the I-X Center in Cleveland this summer.
Amazon.com Sports Collectibles is the title sponsor for the pavilion, which will be housed in a 12,000 square foot arena, adjacent to the Corporate Pavilion and across from the autograph area.
Show Manager Mike Berkus says the special case break area has been in the works for two years.
David Gelfman of Ripping Wax, Inc., will manage the Pavilion. Show organizers say Gelfman “brings to the National a host of experience in case breaking and technical operations and will handle advanced planning as well as the day-to-day operation of the Case Break Pavilion”.
Case Break Exhibitor booths & corporate sponsorships are being offered via [email protected].
A grand opening is planned for Wednesday, July 30 at the Pavilion, which includes a ribbon cutting ceremony, free entries into the “Grand Case Break Event (Saturday, August 2, at 11 am), and a free autograph signing by former Cleveland Indians’ second baseman Carlos Baerga.
There will also be a lounge for breakers and an evening reception.
The Case Break Pavilion will feature 40 “plug & play” exhibitor booths, complete with electric, wifi, decorator package (skirted tables, chairs, signage), 70” large screen TV’s, and what organizers call “a high tech setting for case breaking”.
In the center section of the Pavilion will be The Amazon.com Sports Collectibles Center Stage, a multi-purpose stage especially suited for case breaking. It will also serve as a formal setting for contests, new product releases, special events, autographs, and case breaking. There will be seating in front of the stage. Interested parties wishing to make important announcements, run contests or events, PR or celebrity needs, etc. should contact Ray Schulte, the National’s Pubic Relations Director [email protected] to reserve days and times. There is no charge for this opportunity.
The NSCC is set for July 30-August 3.
