The Gateway Center in the St. Louis suburb of Collinsville, IL will host a three-day sports card and autograph show this weekend with what promoters are saying will be more than $100,000 worth of giveaways including a 1952 Topps Mickey Mantle.
Hosted by Jerry Vickery, Roger Till and Scott Jentsch, the American Sports Collectors Show is Friday (12-9), Saturday (10-5) and Sunday (10-3) and is a bit of a throwback in that it also includes a Saturday night auction with vintage cards and memorabilia being solid on site.
Among the autograph guests are Pete Rose, Andy Van Slyke (Friday evening), Whitey Herzog (Saturday from 11-1) and Ozzie Smith (Sunday 11-2).
Prizes will be given away each hour and include a T206 Ty Cobb, 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth, 1934 Goudey Lou Gehrig, rookie cards of Mickey Mantle, Roberto Clemente, Pete Rose, Stan Musial, Bob Gibson, and Lou Brock and others as well as several Musial autographed baseballs. The Mantle card will be given away Sunday afternoon.
Several auction companies are expected to have a presence at the show, along with dealers from across the Midwest.
Admission is $5 each day. VIP passes, with include autograph discounts and freebies, a Saturday night banquet, early admission and guaranteed entry into each hour’s drawing, are $99.
