NBA Selling All-Star Jerseys

The sweat had barely dried when the NBA put some of this year’s All-Star Game jerseys in an online auction.


NBA Auctions wasted no time in capitalizing on the attention garnered by Sunday night’s 2009 All-Star Game.

Partnering again with the MeiGray Group, the NBA listed 22 game worn jerseys from the contest in Phoenix, including one jersey each from co-MVPs Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal. Players apparently wore at least two jerseys each during the game as the jerseys being sold in the auction are listed as "first half" and "second half".

The league also posted jerseys from the NBA Rookie Challenge that took place during the weekend.

Topping bids so far is Bryant’s first half gamer, already at $3700 with eight bids 2009 NBA All Star Game worn jersey having been made. A LeBron James jersey from the game had drawn seven bids as of late Monday night, with the East shirt sitting at $2343. The jersey Shaq wore in the second half of the West’s victory over the East–carried a bid of $2062 into Tuesday. A Dwight Howard jersey stood at $1080 while a first half Tim Duncan model was at $880.

Among the Rookie Game jerseys available were Derrick Rose (10 bids; $1035) and Kevin Durant (4 bids; $840).
