NBA Finals Jersey Auction Nets $177,000

2010 NBA Finals Game One Kobe Bryant jerseyThe jersey Kobe Bryant wore in Game One of this year’s NBA Finals sold for $29,520 this week as the NBA and MeiGray Group sold off two sets of shirts via auction.

The annual event brings jerseys from Games One and Three to the market.

Bryant’s Game Three blue road jersey went for $20,061, still more than double the second highest price paid for jerseys from either the Lakers or Celtics.

The Finals MVP, Bryant’s gold home shirt proved to be the most popular, generating 30 bids before closing Tuesday night.

Kevin Garnett 2010 NBA Finals Game One jerseyThe two night close saw Kevin Garnett’s Game One top sell for $9040, followed by two other members of Boston’s starting lineup:  Rajon Rondo ($7613) and Paul Pierce ($7060).

Thursday night’s auction of Game Three jerseys included a $7020 bid for Garnett’s home white jersey.

In all, the jersey auction proceeds totaled over $177,000.

Every item offered by NBA and MeiGray is authenticated and registered into the NBA Authentication Program Database.
