Muhammad Ali Baseball Bat Released

Some of sports’ greatest have come from this lively city on the banks of the Ohio River. Now one of those Louisville legends is honoring another as The Greatest – Muhammad Ali and his unsurpassed achievements in boxing and humanity are noted on a new, limited edition and numbered collectible bat from Louisville Slugger.

“Two great sluggers from Louisville are united with the Muhammad Ali Louisville Slugger bat,” said John Obie of Big Time Bats which licensed with Muhammad Ali Enterprises to produce the bat with Louisville Slugger.

“The bat is engraved with Ali’s signature and recognizes him as The Greatest,” Obie said. “It also has his famous ‘Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee™,’ quotation along with information about his birth in Louisville as Cassius Marcellus Clay and his evolution to become Muhammad Ali.”

The bat also notes Ali’s achievements as an amateur boxer: National Golden Gloves Champion, AAU National Champion, and Olympic Gold Medalist. His induction into the International Boxing Hall of Fame and lighting of the Olympic torch at the 1996 Atlanta Olympic games are included as well.

Ali’s recognition as Sports Illustrated’s Sportsman of the Century, BBC’s Sports Personality of the Century, and GQ’s Athlete of the Century are all captured on the bat available at www.BigTimeBats.com.

Perhaps most important, Ali the humanitarian is noted on this special Louisville Slugger bat, with recognition of his United Nations Messenger of Peace Award along with his Presidential Medal of Freedom and Amnesty International Lifetime Achievement Award.
