One of the top cards among the late-season baseball issues found its way into the hands of an Illinois collector, who pulled it during an after store hours impulse buy.
The stars were lined up for Matt Chittick last weekend.
The Colorado Rockies were the hottest thing going--on their way to the World Series thanks in large part to popular rookie shortstop Troy Tulowitzki. Chittick, as a regular customer of Baseball Card City in Peoria, Illinois, was afforded the chance to hang around after closing hours Saturday night.
After a friend pulled one sought-after card from a pack, Chittick took his turn and saw his lottery numbers come up when he found a 1 of 1 Tulowitzki autographed patch card from 2007 Upper Deck Ultimate according to the play-by-play in the local newspaper.
