Some were collectors themselves as kids, but now the NBA's newcomers are getting their own cards. Topps and Upper Deck took photos in New York for next season's basketball cards.

The card companies put 44 of the NBA's 2007 draft picks to work at the New York Knicks training facility. The job? Smile.

It was a photo shoot for the youngsters, including top pick Greg Oden, who told the New York Times he wasn't exactly a mint freak when he collected cards as a kid in Indiana.

“When a kid out there gets my card, I want him to be excited about it,” said Kevin Durant. “When I was a little younger, I got Allen Iverson’s rookie card and I was ecstatic."
