If you found a Draft Pick Exchange card in a pack of Upper Deck Chronology, you're in for an early holiday present.
When it was released over the summer, Upper Deck's Chronology basketball included cut autograph cards of players like Pete Maravich and basketball’s inventor, James Naismith. Now, a modern day player is adding his signature as a bonus.
NBA rookie star Kevin Durant will autograph his draft pick exchange cards for those lucky enough to pull them from packs.
The draft pick letterman patch cards in the set were completed earlier this month and some have begun shipping to collectors. Those waiting on the Durant cards will have a special surprise when they receive them in December as he will be adding his signature to the cards next week. There are three different versions Durant will be signing: the blue base version numbered to 250, the silver version numbered to 50 and the gold version numbered to 10.
Bill Beaman, Upper Deck’s NBA Product Manager said, “The excitement he is creating on the court and in the hobby has been amazing. We hope that by having these cards autographed for collectors, it will help to create even more buzz in the hobby. It’s a nice way to thank the collectors who believed in him from the beginning by acquiring these exchange cards when this set came out.”
