Just weeks after ESPN's 500th and final utterance of "Brady Quinn is still in the green room", we have a football card sighting. The NFL's spring mini-camps are popping up and so is 2007 Playoff Prestige.
May Schmay.
It's football season at Donruss-Playoff, which has released the Playoff Prestige set. The issue is the first fully licensed NFL football product to contain rookie cards of the new draft class. Hitting the streets just two weeks after the draft, this year's program will again contain 100 rookie cards, all with updated team and draft information.
The company was able to secure autographs for cards of JaMarcus Russell, Brady Quinn, Drew Stanton, Marshawn Lynch, Ted Ginn Jr, Dwayne Jarrett, Dwayne Bowe, Robert Meachem, Steve Smith and Greg Olsen.
Hobby boxes will feature either two game-used or autograph cards per box on average.
"Player's Inc did a tremendous job again this year helping us get all the rookies we had on our wish list," said Donruss Playoff Marketing/PR Director Scott Prusha. "For the second year in a row, we were able to reach 100 rookie cards and get live autographs of the top names for the program."
The launch also features an insert called Prestigious Picks. These cards feature a swatch of game-used material on them from actual college jerseys worn by players such as JaMarcus Russell, Kenny Irons, Robert Meachem, Dwayne Bowe, Craig “Buster” Davis, Adrian Peterson, Dwayne Jarrett, Steve Smith, Brady Quinn and Zach Miller.
The rookie cards fall one per pack, with ten of the rookie cards again being short-printed.
