Topps is marrying their eTopps brand with the popular Allen & Ginter set for a season highlights offering limited to less than 1000.
eTopps rolls out a special 11-card 2007 Allen and Ginter Milestones set beginning Monday afternoon.
The set's 11-card checklist will highlight what the company has tagged "2007's biggest and best milestones": Alex Rodriguez's 500th home run, Mark Beuhrle's first career no-hitter, Tom Glavine's 300th career win, Craig Biggio's 3,000th hit, Sammy Sosa's 600th home run, Frank Thomas' 500th home run, Jim Thome's 500th home run, Justin Verlander's first career no-hitter, Pedro Martinez's 3,000th strike out, Curtis Granderson's remarkable statistical season: 20 triples, 20 home runs, 20 doubles and 20 stolen bases season and Prince Fielder's 50 home runs.
The cost of the set will be $77.
In addition to the 11-card Milestones set, eTopps will also be offering a commemorative Barry Bonds home run No. 756 Allen and Ginter card. The Bonds cards, individually numbered to just 1,499 copies, will be offered in conjunction with the eTopps Milestone set release and carry an individual SRP of $9.
The collection will stay classic to the original Allen and Ginter size and design while utilizing eTopps technology. Since the Allen & Ginter eTopps cards will be smaller in size from traditional eTopps issues, the cards will be placed into a fitted frame and then encased in the standard sized eTopps tamper-evident, plastic holder, with accompanying security sticker.
Both the Allen and Ginter Milestones set and Bonds Moments eTopps cards will be allocated to collectors October 16. Collectors must purchase the Milestones cards as a complete 11-card set. Once cards are allocated, each card will then be placed into their respective online portfolios separately at $7 per card. At that point collectors will be able to trade, sell and buy each Allen and Ginter Milestone card separately.
If all 11 cards from the Milestones set are present in a collector's portfolio at the time of requested delivery, before October 31, eTopps will include one free bonus pack of 2007 Allen and Ginter Hobby Edition along with the guarantee that each card in the set will have matching sequential serial numbers.
