A University of Missouri surplus sale netted one man some unique purchases…and some major embarrassment for the school.
Mike Bellman thought a group of 25 old cell phones he found at a University of Missouri "yard sale" might be worth buying for their parts. After all, he got them for less than $5 each. It turns out, he got something far more interesting.
The phones were no longer in use, but they also had plenty of data in them. Some belonged to the school’s highest profile coaches.
While nothing scandalous has turned up, Bellman has turned down the university’s offer to bring them back and have the information deleted. They say he can have them back, but Bellman thinks there’s a collector out there willing to buy them.
In fact, he says he’s already had offers.
