LSU Will Auction Game-Worn Uniforms

Some of those cool throwback uniforms LSU wore the night they essentially took over the #1 ranking are about to be sold.

LSU is one of a small number of universities that has taken control of its own game-worn merchandise.

The Tigers may have struck a gold mine when they donned throwback uniforms for last Saturday’s game with Tulane at the Louisiana Superdome. The victory has propelled the school to the top spot in college football and ten of the uniforms from that game–helmets included–are heading for

The uniforms include game-worn pants and helmets as well as jerseys identical to those worn in the game that catapulted LSU to a No. 1 ranking in the Associated Press poll.

Ten different uniforms, numbered 11, 15, 16, 32, 35, 44, 61, 72, 79 and 93 are being sold via the online auction, which ends next Wednesday. The first auction ends at 2 p.m. CT, with nine more ending in the following three hours.

While the school won’t identify the actual players who wore the uniforms because of NCAA rules, #15 is quarterback Matt Flynn, #32 is running back Charles Scott and #35 is linebacker Luke Sanders. Two players have been assigned #11 and #44. It’s not clear which players’ uniforms are being sold.
