Legal brouhaha over Williams memorabilia

Another court fight over Ted Williams…luckily this time it has nothing to do with cryogenics.

Ted Williams' daughter and ex-wife are locked in a dispute with the San Diego Hall of Champions.   At issue are items from Williams' career and whether they were donated or simply given to the museum in his hometown during the early 1990s.

The difference of opinion is whether Williams' heirs are entitled to the items, including his 1946 and '49 MVP trophies, game-used bats and a Presidential Medal of Freedom, or whether the intent was for the Hall to have them on 'permanent loan'.   The family wants them returned while the Hall believes they should remain on display in San Diego.  Complicating matters is a cash loan from the Hall's founder to Williams' late son John Henry that remains unpaid.
