The northern California Labor Day weekend card show is gone, but there is a big event on the southern end of the state.

Southern California-based SportsBuy.com will host the 31st Los Angeles Sports Collector's Expo at The Hollywood Park Casino & Convention Center this Friday through Sunday.

SportsBuy, formerly NAXCOM, recently made national headlines with their $25,000 reward offer for infamous Chicago Cubs' fan Steve Bartman's autograph during the 29th National Sports Collectors Convention. The notorious Cubs fan was a no-show.

A number of top athletes are already confirmed to sign autographs at the event to be held over Labor Day weekend. Headliners include NBA Hall of Famers Isiah Thomas, Elvin Hayes and Jerry Lucas. Baseball legends Gaylord Perry, Jim Rice and others are set to attend.

Over 250 tables will include sports card singles and sets, wax boxes, vintage, game-used memorabilia and other items. Several top auction houses will be on hand to accept consignments and show off some of the items in upcoming sales.

On-site card sports card grading and autograph authentication will also be made available to those attending the expo.

”For many years, we have been bringing legendary sports celebrities and top-notch sports collectibles to thousands of fans in the Los Angeles market,” said Kevin Klein, SportsBuy.com’s VP of Trade Shows. “All fans, young and old, should find plenty to browse and buy.”

A single day pass is $9, while a multi-day pass is $15. The show is free to kids eight years and under. Expo hours are as follows: Friday, August 29th from 2 to 8 p.m., Saturday, August 30th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, August 31st from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.
