The annual boxed set featuring Team USA members is set for release in just a couple of weeks.
For about the last 30 years or so, it's been a time-honored tradition for those who collect baseball cards. Do some speculative buying on young prospects in the hopes they will become huge stars in the future.
Nowhere is there a better crop of young talent than USA Baseball's National Teams whose alumni include the likes of Scott Kazmir, Dustin Pedroia, Troy Tulowitzki and Justin Upton to name a few.
Upper Deck has again partnered with the National Governing Body to produce the annual USA Baseball National Teams Box Set for the prospect laden 2007 National and Junior National Teams. The company has indicated that boxed sets will be available later this month.
The base set will include sixty cards featuring the National and Junior National Teams. Seven autograph cards and two game-used memorabilia cards will be included in each box with rare multi-signed cards also scheduled to be in the mix.
“We are pleased to once again have Upper Deck manufacturing the Box Set as part of our licensing partnership,” said David Perkins, USA Baseball’s Chief Operating Officer. “Since the first Box Set release by Upper Deck in 2002, the product has become one of the hobby’s most anticipated products by both collectors and USA Baseball fans.”
The product will be limited to 10,000 69-card sets and will carry a suggested retail price of $64.95.
“The USA Baseball National Teams Box Sets are extremely popular every year, but we really spent a lot of time working with them this year to make sure the content was a home run,” said Jason Masherah, Upper Deck’s Baseball brand manager. “From great player selection to providing exciting chase with a much better mix of higher-end elements than in years prior, we are confident the Box Sets will be extremely desirable in the hobby.”
