T206 Honus Wagner PSA 5A T206 Honus Wagner card has generated some attention while a new item has been added to the upcoming live auction event in Chicago.

The heavy bidding won't likely take place until the heavy hitters are in the room or on the phone next Friday but one of the best examples of the hobby's 'holy grail' has already been bid up to $250,000.

Mastro Auctions' summer sports memorabilia auction includes a 1909-1911 T206 Honus Wagner card and 95 other lots expected to generate an average high bid of $50,000.

As of Thursday, five bids had been received on the Wagner card, graded PSA 5 (EX). It's expected bidding could reach $1 million when the auction ends next Friday at the ESPN SportsZone in Chicago.

The auction listing also includes a path of provenance for several other known Wagner cards, some of which reside in private collections.

Mastro also announced Wednesday that it had added Barry Bonds' 760th home run ball to the list of auction items. It joins Ken Griffey Jr.'s 600th which will also be sold. The Griffey ball has a minimum bid of $24,000.

A game worn Roberto Clemente jersey has been pushed to $26,00 in early bidding while a high grade Babe Ruth autographed baseball has received a $20,000 bid.

Admission to the Friday night auction is $100, with ticket proceeds benefitting the Derek Lee 1st Touch Foundation.
