Stadium Seats: Functional Memorabilia

They're not especially comfortable but stadium seats have plenty of fans.

The price may have sounded a little high--and it may be out of reach for many--but sports collectors who specialize in stadium memorabilia can't wait for the Shea Stadium seat sale.

Plans were announced last week, with the fight for control over the proceeds from Yankee Stadium seats still not resolved.

With quantities limited and memories unlimited, there seem to be plenty of buyers for ballpark furniture. The seats are functional too--but if you want a pair from the upcoming sales in New York, you'll have to wait for the city to get the lead out--literally.

The Wall Street Journal queried a few specialists and ran down the recent market for stadium seats.
