He's overcome a few obstacles, but one Pacific Northwest sports card dealer is still trying to keep the customers happy.

He doesn't have the hobby's most valuable baseball cards in stock, but he's got plenty of inventory and a positive outlook in his second career.

Pete Brown of Cooperstown Sports Cards in Queen Anne, Washington, used to be in charge of admissions at the University of Idaho. When that door closed, a new career opened. He set up shop selling baseball and other sports cards during the boom years a couple of decades ago.

Since then he's survived the consolidation of the nation's sports memorabilia shops, a move to Seattle and now, according to a suburban newspaper--a forced move to a new location.
