Historic sports papers and old publications abound in the hobby, but what are the best methods to preserve those decades-old items?
Pick up a program from the 1920s. A player contract from the '40s. A piece of team letterhead from the '30s. But be careful. It might fall apart on you.
Time is rarely kind to old collectibles. Depending on the quality of the paper used, old documents and other paper items deteriorate at a slow but steady pace.
There are, however, some steps you can take to make them last long enough to pass on to your kids or provide feathering for the retirement nest egg.
