Some players sign autographs to pad their already-fertile bank accounts. Others do it because they have to.
He won eight gold gloves and led the American League in homers and RBIs while playing alongside Hank Aaron for the 1976 Milwaukee Brewers. Before that, he played a key role on the Boston Red Sox 1967 Impossible Dream team.
George Scott enjoyed a long baseball career from the mid-1960s to the late 1970s. He should be enjoying retirement.
But apparently that's not the case.
The man they called "The Boomer" showed up to sign autographs at a long-running show last weekend and didn't seem to be enjoying himself.
A Milwaukee blogger chronicled the sad visit--as well as his own attempts at becoming a sports card dealer.
