Notre Dame Collectibles by Steiner Sports has signed an exclusive multi-year deal with the Rockne Estates, creating a product line featuring the legendary Knute Rockne. Steiner has purchased the rights to his photos, reprinting the famous “Win One for the Gipper” speech, and other original product.
“I am thrilled to have Notre Dame Collectibles by Steiner Sports working with our family to create an exclusive collectible line featuring the likeness and memories of my father,” said Jack Rockne, the son of the legendary Knute Rockne. “This unique partnership will allow Notre Dame fans to be part of a truly unique and special line of product, the first of its kind. It will be very exciting for Notre Dame fans and football collectors alike.”
“There is no bigger name in Notre Dame history and we are thrilled to be working directly with the family on this exclusive venture,” said Pete Kelly, Notre Dame Collectibles by Steiner Sports.
Steiner produced a framed piece reprinting Rockne's speech against a backdrop of images and Kelly told Sports Collectors Daily the company sold 200 in the first two days it was offered.
"I knew we had a winner because Rockne is the Babe Ruth of college football. We've been working to try and get something done with the Rockne family through our Notre Dame contacts and were finally able to get this done."
Kelly said Steiner is working to create memorabilia which includes audio from Rockne and has acquired the rights to never before seen photographs from the school's archives.
