Lou Piniella is a hit in Chicago, but fans in southern Ohio remember him as their manager once upon a time. A signing session two years in the making proved worthwhile.

 

 

 

He was younger then--and a little more fiery.

When the Cincinnati Reds pulled off a shocking four-game sweep of the Oakland A's in the 1990 World Series, he was the toast of the town. 18 years later, Lou Piniella is still managing and still winning.

When the Chicago Cubs paid a visit to Cincinnati over the weekend, a local promoter was finally able to get Piniella to sit down for a paid autograph session that drew fans of both teams.
