Bryan Smith just wanted to add to his card collection. He wound up on the field during the MLB All Star festivities.
Bryan Smith and his father own tens of thousands of cards. The 36 year-old Nevada baseball fan has been collecting for years and still keeps up on the card companies' newest promotions.
The odds of winning the trip to the All Star game that was advertised on packaging of Upper Deck's products were pretty small but he figured he could still find something interesting in the pack he selected at a Wal-Mart near Reno.
Upper Deck offered an insert containing codes for an on-line entry and the chance to win multiple prizes including the trip. Smith entered his code online and according to the Sparks Tribune, the rest is history.
